Class Offering: Making a Journal Cover using the Image-Transfer technique. In this class, design an image-transfer cover for your journal and also make one as a gift!

Students will make a journal cover or more if they have the time! One journal will be provided for each student, and students are welcome to bring their own in addition.

Students will learn the Image-Transfer technique and play with mixing different imagery. Paints and color can be added. Finally, the journals will be sealed and protected once they are finished.

Class fee: $19 for 2 hour workshop!

Class offering: SPECIAL TECHNIQUES IN HAND-MAKING WINTER CANDLES FROM SCRATCH, FUN FUN FUN!!

On December 14th and 15th, Students will experiment and make candles of all different colors, mix colors, and challenge themselves using all sorts of different candle-making techniques. Students will take home their candles at the end of class, ready for Winter time use!

Cost: $19/ student, per two hour workshop, professional instruction and all supplies included.

Class offering: CERAMIC COOKIE MOLD MAKING CLASS!!

Ceramic Cookie Mold Making Workshops will be taught at Violet Art Studios on Saturday, December 28th. Students will learn about the specialty Swiss Chrabeli Winter cookie and will be given recipes to make the cookies. This class is taught conjunction with a Swiss Chrabeli cookie making cooking workshop which will be taught by Aliza Rand similar to this class which was taught last Winter (link). Students are welcome to also take the cooking class, inquire via email.


Class fee: $25, includes clay and firing, all supplies and instruction.

Class offering: PINS & EARRINGS FROM SCRATCH

12/5, 12/7 & 1/4, Students will first sketch out their designs and talk about them with their fellow students and art teacher, and then make their final designs on a template which will be baked and hardened. The designs will be baked and set in class, and made into earrings or pins. Great for holiday gifts!

Class offering: HOLIDAY CARD & WRAPPING PAPER MAKING FROM SCRATCH(BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!!!)

Starting at the end of November through December, printmaking Instruction, followed by hands-on in-class printmaking production will be offered with Aliza Rand, a professional artist and arts educator. In a small studio class setting, students will create their own unique stamp- and sometimes more than one design if they are motivated to do so!- and print an unlimited amount of prints, on various card stocks. Students will make a unique set of cards during the workshop session. Some students end up making wrapping paper as well! Perhaps students, the cards can be your holiday cards or special event cards for your collection. Handmade prints and cards will be ready to take home by the end of the workshop session. This workshop is challenging, rewarding, production-packed and fun. All materials included. Limited to 8 students. Workshop can be repeated.
