🎬 Project Runway: FFA Edition! 💙💛

Our 7th grade ag students have been learning about FFA and the professional Official Dress worn by its members. Today, they put that knowledge to the test with a little friendly competition!

During Project Runway: FFA Edition, teams had just 20 minutes to recreate FFA Official Dress on their chosen model using the materials provided. Then, our models hit the runway to show off their teams’ quick renditions of Official Dress!

After the runway show, the teams were judged on how closely their look matched FFA Official Dress, with the best-dressed taking the win! 🏆

🧪🍓 Food Science in Action! 🍇🍎

Our 7th grade Ag students have been learning about food science during their Agriscience unit, including the science behind making jelly and how canning helps preserve food!

Over the past three days, students rotated through stations where they:
🔬 Investigated the science behind jelly-making
🥫 Learned about food preservation and canning
👩‍🍳 Made their own batches of jelly from start to finish!

Today was the best part—they finally got to taste-test their finished products and take a jar home to share with their families!

Our flavors included grape, apple, and strawberry/raspberry. While every flavor turned out great, strawberry/raspberry was the clear winner this time! 🍓🏆

Nothing beats learning the science and then getting to eat the results! 💙💛

🍽️ Georgia Commodity Potluck! 🍑🌽🥜

Our 8th graders brought the food and had a great Georgia Commodity Potluck today! Students selected foods connected to commodities grown or produced right here in Georgia, then got to enjoy tasting what their classmates brought.

It was a fun (and delicious!) way to see just how many of the foods we eat connect back to Georgia agriculture.

Our members spent the afternoon learning about all the opportunities FFA has to offer and started growing as a team with some fun activities along the way!

We are proud to announce that Morgan County Middle FFA has once again been named a 3-Star National Chapter! 💙💛

This recognition reflects the hard work, leadership, service, and dedication of our FFA members and officer team who continue to make our chapter something special.

We are incredibly proud of them and excited to once again represent Morgan County FFA on the national level! 🌟

Join us after school Thursday, August 13 from 3:30–4:30 PM in the Ag Room ( #131)! ANY student interested in FFA is invited to attend—you don’t have to already know what FFA is or be involved. Come check it out!

Can’t stay after school but want to learn more? 🌱 We’ll also have a short Intro to FFA meeting during ELT on Thursday where you can learn what FFA is all about and how you can get involved.

If you’ve ever thought about showing market hogs, now’s the time to jump in! Join us for our Market Hog Show Team Interest Meeting to learn what the program is all about, what to expect, and how to get involved.

The meeting is open to any school-age student interested in showing pigs—whether you’re brand new to livestock or already have some experience. We’d love to see you there!
