This past week, our Jr. Meats Evaluation Team competed in the Area 2 Meats Evaluation CDE! 🥩🔍

This was the very first CDE for all four team members, and Lillie Rae, Evan, Wade, and Abram earned an 8th place finish! 🎉

In this contest, students identify retail cuts of meat, determine the primal cut, species, and appropriate cookery method, and also evaluate and judge the quality of meat classes.

We are so proud of this team for trying something new and taking on a challenging contest! 💙💛

Yesterday, Eliana Niko competed in the Area 2 Jr. Floral Design CDE for the very first time and placed 15th out of 50 contestants! 🎉💐

🌱 Our first SAE Expo of the school year was a huge success!

Our 6th and 7th grade agriculture students had the opportunity to showcase the work they have completed through their Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs) over the past several weeks.

What an amazing turnout! Thank you to all of our guests who stopped by to support our students, ask questions, and see firsthand what they have learned through their SAE projects.

Congratulations to our MCMS FFA Jr. Land Evaluation Team! 🌱💙💛

Max, Mason, Rhett, and Audrey-Mae competed in the Area 2 Jr. Land Evaluation CDE this past Thursday and earned a Top 10 finish!

We’re proud of these students for trying something new and becoming part of our chapter’s very first Land Evaluation Team. In this contest, students evaluate factors such as slope, erosion, soil texture, and land use to determine the best management practices for a site.

🐄🥛 From the Farm to the Fridge! 🚜

Today, our 6th Grade Agriculture students had the opportunity to visit Godfrey Dairy and learn firsthand where their milk and other dairy products come from!

Students learned how calves are fed, how the milking process works, where dairy cows live when they aren’t being milked, and how the cows are fed and cared for each day. Of course, one of the highlights was getting to climb up into some of the tractors and honk the horns! 🚜📣

A huge thank you to Godfrey Dairy for welcoming our students and giving them such a fun, hands-on look at the dairy industry.

🧼💙 Over 100 Hygiene Kits Assembled! 💙🧼

At yesterday’s FFA meeting, our members worked together to assemble more than 100 hygiene kits for the Madison Morgan Community Food Pantry!

Each kit was organized with shampoo, conditioner, soap, a washcloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, and deodorant to help provide essential hygiene items to members of our community.

We are incredibly thankful to all of the students and parents who donated supplies to make this service project possible. We were overwhelmed by the amount of generosity shown through your donations, and because of your support, our members were able to make a meaningful impact right here in our community.

Thank you for supporting MCMS FFA and helping our students practice the true meaning of Living to Serve! 💙💛

💐 Today our 8th grade Ag students put their horticulture skills to work by learning how to create simple floral arrangements in mugs!

Students practiced basic floral design techniques while creating their own unique arrangements to take home and share.

💙💛 September FFA Meeting! 💛💙

Join us Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 3:30–4:30 PM in the MCMS Ag Room #131!

This month, our FFA members will be giving back to our community by building hygiene kits to donate to the Madison Morgan Community Food Pantry. 🧼🪥🧴

Come help us turn all of our donated items into kits that will make a difference for families in our community. We hope to see our FFA members there!

Today, several of our FFA members attended the North Region Rally to kick off the year! 💙💛

Students put their FFA and agriculture knowledge to the test through ID challenges, skill relays, puzzle solving, scavenger hunts, and more. Of course, the day also included some classic camp free rec activities and the iconic camp lunch!

It was a fun day of learning, teamwork, and getting excited for another great year in FFA! 🌱🚜
