Every mom deserves support, information, and legal protection to reach her breastfeeding goals at home, at work, and everywhere in between.

Did you know Tennessee law protects your right to breastfeed in any public or private location you’re authorized to be? You also have the right to a reasonable break time and a private space (not a bathroom) to pump at work.

Happy National Friendship Day! 👫

Friendship is one of the first big lessons our little ones learn here — sharing toys, taking turns, apologizing, and giving the best hugs. Today we’re celebrating with friendship-themed books and activities in the classroom!

At home, you can keep the spirit going too: maybe set up a playdate, help your child make a card for a friend, or talk about what it means to be a good friend.

Kick off Pollinator Week with a special story time in partnership with the Tennessee State Museum on June 20th at 10:30 am! 🐝🦋

We will be reading “Meet The Pollinators: A Night and Day Adventure,” which emphasizes pollinators’ vital role in our planet’s survival. Story time will be followed with crafts, pollinator coloring books, and milkweed seeds to take home and plant!

We invite visitors to celebrate Juneteenth with us at the Museum on Friday, June 19. Sankofa African Drum and Dance - Tennessee will be performing in the Grand Hall at noon. Throughout the day, hands-on history stations will be in the galleries. Families can also enjoy Storytime and craft activities at the Museum during the celebration, such as making your own Kente Cloth Juneteenth flag and pennant. Be sure to join us for cupcakes 🧁 at 11:30 a.m.!
