The City of Rhinelander will hold a street renaming ceremony in honor of SGT Ryan Adams on May 17 at 1:30 p.m. in front of the Rhinelander Armory.
All are welcome to attend this event.
In April, the City of Rhinelander approved a plan to change the name of Military Road in Rhinelander to Adams Way in honor of SGT Ryan Adams, who was killed in action in Afghanistan while serving with the Wisconsin Army National Guard's 951st Engineer Company (Sapper) in 2009.
The National Guard armory in Rhinelander, formerly 1136 Military Rd., will now be known as 1136 Adams Way.

Congrats TSgt Southworth! We would also like to congratulate CPT Giese and SGT Vollmer, who also received their CABs in the same IDF attack.
Tech. Sgt. Chontelle Southworth, a crew chief with the 115th Fighter Wing, was honored with the Army Combat Action Badge for her duties while assigned to the 97th Agribusiness Development Team at Camp Wright in Kunar Providence, Afghanistan, during early 2013 in a ceremony at Truax Field, Madison, Wis. Aug. 23. Southworth was deployed as a veterinary tech and animal husbandry specialist with the ADT and was in her room when the base came under an indirect fire attack.
