Locally grown eggs, fruits, vegetables, and jams and jellies. We also run a bed-and-breakfast called the Farmhouse Inn.

It is a popular farm wedding site and also hosts family reunions, school and church groups, business retreats, and families looking for a place to hike, canoe, fish, bird-watch, etc. or just enjoy the nearby historic town of Madison, GA.

It is with great sadness that we share this news with you.

Ellis L. Johnson, renowned professor, mathematician, and founder of The Farmhouse Inn and Hundred Acre Farm died on February 20, 2024, at his home near Madison, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held this Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at The Farmhouse Inn at Hundred Acre Farm, followed by a reception in the Red Barn.

Ellis was a distinguished figure in the fields of operations research, mathematical programming, and industrial engineering. He made signifcant contributions throughout his career, leaving a lasting impact on the academic community and the airline industry. Not to mention his imprint on the Madison-Morgan community with the creation of The Farmhouse Inn and Hundred Acre Farm.

From the Johnsons to the Cantrells… to love, cherish and preserve!
Meet the new Proprietors and Farmers at The Farmhouse Inn at Hundred Acre Farm 🧡

Jim and I fell in love with this little slice of Madison two years ago this month. As life and luck would have it, we spent an evening at the Farmhouse Inn while investigating an adjacent weekend property. This place had us by sunset with a flurry of hummingbird moths and a glowing orange sky just above the pasture. From the parading chickens, ducks and peacocks to the crawfish prancing along the path to the river to the amazing wildlife. Birding for days here. Peaceful kayaking. Trails to wander…. We were the only guests on that very hot Sunday and so we had breakfast with the Inn and Farm’s creator, Ellis Johnson and with his wife and Innkeeper, Crystal Johnson. We’ve gone from guests to friends to now the new owners of their life’s passion. We wish them well in their retirement and feel privileged to be passed the torch so to speak.

We have a few projects in the works but hope that you will all come and visit us again soon!
