The Madison County Speech Team walked away with the First Place Trophy this past Saturday for the Super Regionals Speech Tournament which was held at Randolph Henry High School. Here are the results:

1. Caroline Wright- First Place in Original Oratory
2. Hannah Honiker- First Place in Storytelling
3. Charlotte Kerlin- First Place in Prose
4. Veronica Perez-Romero- 2nd Place in Poetry
5. Ally Recinos- 2nd Place in Storytelling
6. Live Perry- 3rd Place in Humorous Duo
7. Reeva McCloud- 3rd Place in Humorous Duo
8. Trinity Shoultz- 4th Place Alternate in Humorous Duo
9. Addison Weakly- 4th Place Alternate in Humours Duo

The team will be headed to the VHSL State Speech Tournament on March 27 & 28 at Salem High School.

The Madison County High School Speech Team had a great day yesterday. While competing at Stuarts Draft High School, the team walked away with the First Place Regional Trophy, and the entire team wore their proud medals!

2. Veronica Perez-Romero- 1st Place in Poetry
3. Hannah Honaker- 1st Place in Storytelling
4. Charlotte Kerlin- 2nd Place in Prose
5. Addison Weakly- 2nd Place in Humorous Duo
6. Trinity Shoultz- 2nd Place in Humorous Duo
7. Ally Recinos- 2nd Place in Storytelling
8. Reeva McCloud- 3rd Place in Humorous Duo
9. Liv Perry- 3rd Place in Humorous Duo

All nine competitors will represent the Madison High School Speech Team this upcoming Saturday, February 28 for the VHSL Super Regional Tournament at Randolph Henry High School.

Yesterday was another great day for the Madison High School Speech Team winning the 2nd Place Trophy at the VHSL Super Regionals Tournament at Luray High School--that's two trophies within a two week period! The team competed with eight other schools in the 2A and 2B Classification.

Cameron Smith(Senior)- 2nd Place Medal in Extemporaneous Speaking
Mariano Perez-Romero(Senior)- 2nd Place Medal in Original Oratory
Derrick White(Junior)- 3rd Place Medal in Serious Dramatic Duo
Carolyn Wright(Junior)- First Place Medal in Serious Dramatic
Addison Weakley(Sophomore)- Placed 6th in Humorous Dramatic at the Regional Level
Vee Arnett(Senior)- 3rd Place Medal in Serious Dramatic Duo
Jamila Anderson(Senior)- 4th Place Alternate in Prose
Mal Hamilton(Junior)- 4th Place Alternate in Impromptu
Veronica Perez-Romero(8th grader)- Placed 4th Place Alternate in Humorous Duo at the Regional Level
Charlotte Kerlin(Freshman)- 3rd Place Medal in Storytelling
Hannah Honaker(Freshman)- 2nd Place Medal in Storytelling

The team will be heading to the VHSL State Tournament on March 28 & 29 at Salem High School.

Congratulations to our Speech(formerly Forensics) team on winning the Region 2B Championship on Saturday! Hannah Honaker won the plaque for Best Performer and Head Coach Fay Cunningham won the plaque for Coach of the Year!

The Madison High School Forensics Team won a trophy for being the Runner-up School in the Shenandoah Virginia Forensics League for 2024-25! There were 23 schools competing this past Saturday, January 18 at JMU. There were 154 competitors.
