The Midrasha Hebrew High School, founded in 1975, is jointly sponsored by Beth Israel Center, Temple Beth El, and Jewish Federation of Madison. The purpose of Midrasha is to provide students with experiences and educational opportunities that will strengthen their Jewish identity and encourage and stimulate their desire to learn about their heritage. Classes begin September 11.
Midrasha, a Jewish Federation of Madison program, in partnership with Beth Israel Center, Congregation Shaarei Shamayim, and Temple Beth El, offers classes in Hebrew and Jewish Studies with time for socializing for 8th-12th graders. This meaningful, pluralistic community program welcomes all teens from any denomination or non-synagogue-affiliated background. Studying at Midrasha provides students with experiences and educational opportunities to develop a strong, positive identity and set of values within the framework of a united Jewish people. Are you interested in joining Midrasha Hebrew High School? Current 7th-11th graders who are not yet enrolled are invited to try out our incredible teen program of Jewish learning and fun on Wednesday, April 17, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, at Temple Beth El. Students will attend classes that evening with their peers. Parents and guardians are invited to a schmooze next door at Everly during class, where members of the Midrasha committee will be available to answer questions. This Sunday - Join us to celebrate Israel's 75th Birthday at the Goodman Jewish Community Campus from 2:30 - 4:30 pm! We have lots of fun activities planned, including Israeli folk dancing to music through the decades, a hummus-making competition, a collaborative art project, and so much more. We had a great time seeing everyone who came out for the Midrasha Meet and Greet on Wednesday. So fun to catch up and enjoy some yummy ice cream together before the start of the upcoming fall semester. Looking forward to seeing everyone next week! Shabbat Shalom!
