Good afternoon, all,
This morning SVA teamed up with all branches of ROTC on the UW campus to plant flags in remembrance of 9/11 on Bascom hill. We will never forget the 2,977 people who lost their lives in the deadliest terrorist attack in American history on 9/11 in 2001 and the servicemembers who have given their lives in the resulting War on Terror. As student veterans, we look to maintain awareness of the pain this event has caused as time continues to pass and to educate the new generation about the events that occurred on that day. The Flags are up on Bascom hill until 4pm today so please stop by and tag us to let us know you stopped by.

Good afternoon SVA,
We hope you are excited for Veterans Day next week! The Wisconsin Union will be holding an event on November 11th starting at 1PM at Memorial Union's main lounge. Following this event at around 1:45PM, we will be heading to Bascom Hill to set up our flag display. Our theme this year will be honoring individual veterans and we will be placing flags with the names of veterans that students wish to honor. If you would like to place a flag, we have a survey form that we are using to collect this information ahead of time, but you may also simply arrive at the event and make the flag. The survey is at this link:

We can't wait to see everyone and celebrate together!

Hey Everyone,
We will be holding a virtual career myth-busting event with Google on November 10th 1800-1900 CST. Although the event involves tech and engineering roles, there will be opportunities for all majors to learn from. A Google representative will be there to answer questions regarding hiring, interview process, etc. The topics discussed will be inclusive to all students and we hope to see you there! After the event, SVA leadership and other members will be staying a little longer to meet and greet you all. We hope to catch up with each and all of you! Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. If you would like to attend the event, please RSVP at goo.gle/37uSdEW

In accordance with the recent Chancellor’s instruction, we will not be hosting our September 11th Flags on Bascom event this year. We will never forget the 2,980 people who lost their lives in the deadliest terrorist attack in human history on this day in 2001 and the servicemembers who have given their lives in the resulting War on Terror that continues today. As student veterans, we look to maintain the awareness of the pain this event has caused as time continues to pass. We hope to have another successful semester and meet all of the incoming veterans as soon as the situation allows and we are happy to continue welcoming and supporting our student veterans on campus.
