Dakota State University is located in Madison, SD and was founded in 1881 as the first teacher education institution in the Dakota Territory (Don't think this is your grandma's old school though... we've improved our technology just a "little" bit since 1881). In its 131st year, DSU has grown into the 2011 Top Public Baccalaureate College in the Midwest Region by U.S. News & World Report, a title we’ve held for 5 consecutive years! We sound great, right? But where do you fit in? Dakota State offers 46 bachelor degrees and 6 associate degrees from three colleges: College of Business & Information Systems, College of Arts & Sciences, and College of Education. DSU also offers 5 graduate degrees and one doctorate degree. This means whatever you're into, we can find something to hold your interest for about four years, or more if you want! College isn't all about the academics; a student needs somewhere to crash! Campus has four residence halls and one apartment style complex, with all four residence halls being recently updated! And we're not done with what DSU can offer YOU! Dakota State University was the first college in South Dakota to put Tablet PC's in every student's hands, keeping them on the cutting edge of technology.
