Wanted to share some of the great egg drop pictures from last week's final challenge.
The kids looked like they had fun!!! Some were successful and some where not... which is the engineering way.

Good morning Parents, hope you all had a fabulous weekend. This week kicks off our Tinkering and Gadgets session.
The kids finished January challenges with a splat, as they designed things to protect their eggs last week, and some were not successful and the eggs didn't survive but I am sure that the failures led to new ways of thinking and they will become success the next time.
True meaning of STEM, mistakes make our brains grow!!!! They are never failures they are just ideas and designs that need some modifications!!
This week we are in Waunakee today, Pope Farms tomorrow, Wednesday in Lake Mills, MCDS, Thursday Middleton and starting a new class at Our Lady Queen of Peace check out the flyer below!! Friday in Mt. Horeb and Saturday in Verona.
We are gearing up for spring break classes in Middleton and one day in Lake Mills.
Summer is right around the corner and we will offer camps in Middleton, Cross Plains, Mt. Horeb, hopefully Waunakee. Lake Mills and Verona. Keep an eye out!!!
We will be doing fun things like Mad scientist , Mine Craft, Lego We-Do building, hands on building and designing. Chemistry in the Kitchen cooking, and other camps.

Good morning friends and families!! Hope you are staying safe in these cold temps.
We have had a fun two weeks of classes. Last week the kids built recyclable towers and this week we are finishing up our month of challenges, with egg drops.
The egg drop challenge is my favorite to see if the kiddos designs hold up and protect their eggs. We have some great engineers.

Happy Friday Families!!
I hope the new year is off to a good start and you are all healthy and happy.
We kicked off our third session of Engineering for Kids this week in Waunakee and Middleton and Mt. Horeb will kick off tonight.
The kiddos are doing a month of Challenges. Working in teams designing and building.
This week brought paper towers. The goal was to make it tall, and to hold marshmallow weight.
It is always my favorite thing to see what they can come up with!!
The vocabulary the kids learned:
Force - any action that tends to maintain or alter the position of a structure
Load - weight distribution throughout a structure; loads caused by wind, earthquakes, and gravity affect how weight is distributed throughout a structure
Pressure - a force applied or distributed over an area
Stable - ability to resist collapse and deformation; stability (n.) characteristic of a structure that is able to carry a realistic load without collapsing or deforming significantly
Unstable - characteristic of a structure that collapses or deforms under a realistic load
Madison Country Day school did a free build on Monday they had a lot of fun using their imaginations.

Good Monday morning, as this week brings the start of Session 3 to different areas. January is a month of challenges.
The kids will be building a paper tower, that must have height and hold weight!! Should be an interesting session.
We will be starting a hands-on programming in Waunakee today from 3:30-4:40.
Lake Mills will start Wednesday
Middleton will start on Thursday.
Hope your kids are ready for some fun designing and building.

Merry Christmas to you all from Engineering for Kids. Wow!!! Can't believe Christmas is 12 days away. So crazy how fast time is flying by when you are engineering and buliding.
The kiddos have be working on Operation Top Secret for the past two weeks and this week they will be designing and building graham cracker houses.
Can't wait to see all of their builds, creativity, and individualism that comes in being in a STEM program.
We are wrapping up our final week of our second session. Will be back next year!! aka January!! :)
We will have challenges, Leprechaun traps, Lego and Domino builds, free building and so much more!!
We are also wrapping up our very first session of Chemistry in the Kitchen in Waunakee the kids had a blast, learned a lot and half of them prefer the blue box of mac and cheese to homemade. LOL!!
Have a great day!!

Good morning,
We at Engineering for Kids would like to wish you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
We hope you have a lot of fun and make some great memories!!
The kids in Chemistry in the Kitchen in Waunakee made side dishes for our Friendsgiving last Wednesday.
They choose mashed potatoes and gravy, corn pudding, and sweet potatoes to make, and we made apple crisp all together for dessert.
The kids in hands on made suspension bridges using spaghetti noodles and gummy candy. We had some great builds and the kids had a fabulous time!!
