This photo encapsulates exactly how I feel right now, glowing from the inside out. I am beyond honored to be a part of the Breathe For Change yoga teacher training program designed especially for educators. I am filled with gratitude for all of the brilliant and gorgeous souls that I am surrounded by for the next 16 days, especially Ilana for bringing me on board this life changing program. Cheers to new beginnings that I discovered today on my bike ride home, meandering along previously undiscovered trails and wild grasses in my hOMetown. Missing all of my public classes and inspiring students these next two weeks, but know that I am well cared for and filling my heart and soul up with pure light that I will share with you all soon 💜💙❤️

The heart chakra, anahata, meaning unstruck. As living breathing souls we endure challenges, we encounter obstacles, we feel the feeling of a broken heart. Yet the energetic field of our heart remains unhurt, unbeaten. The heart fire is resilient and continues to expand beyond the confines of the physical realm, the eternal light of the heart like the fiery radiance of the sun.

What a difference four months can make in the landscape of your environment, physically, mentally, emotionally. The beginning of 2017 and the shift in our political backdrop calls not only for collective action, but also for deep work at an individual level. For the next five weeks I encourage you to drop in to my public yoga classes as we take a closer examination of the circular wheels of energy that light up our spine, our mind and our interactions with the world. Beginning with muladhara, the root chakra, we aim to anchor into our embodiment. Without a steady foundation, nothing can evolve. As we increase our consciousness of our imbalances, we gain the ability to grow stronger, individually and collectively.

Feeling lost and overwhelmed today? Me too. You're not alone. When I feel challenged by life and things that are beyond my personal control, I turn to my practice. I find the quiet space inside where I can enhance my intimate relationship to my breath and silence the myriad of fluctuations within my mind. Yoga and music have been the two constants that offer me exactly what I need. I hope you'll enjoy the collaboration of my teaching in alignment with the earthy musical stylings of Joe Taylor tonight, 6pm at Supercharge Foods. The timing of this workshop is impeccable. I have felt a wide range of emotions over the past couple of days, from fear to anxiety to hopelessness to doom to anger to frustration. I have also tapped into calmness and joy, through my community, loved ones and self care practices.
