It’s with much gratitude that today we say goodbye to Katie Freeman, our statewide program manager and pillar of our team for five years!

During her time with Wisconsin AHEC, Katie has:

-Supported AHEC’s statewide programs, including AHEC Scholars, Community Health Internship Program and AHEC Community Health Immersion. These programs have given health care students valuable time working in Wisconsin’s many communities.

-Developed curriculum for students and instructed an experiential learning course for UW Madison as an assistant adjunct professor at the School of Medicine and Public Health, which is AHEC’s home in the Universities of Wisconsin System.

-Served as the postsecondary/Collegiate State Advisor for Wisconsin HOSA, part of the national organization for future health professionals.

And if you’ve seen our social media or flyers in the last five years, that was Katie too!

She will be missed by her AHEC colleagues statewide, who remember her unwavering support and assistance, kindness, patience and positive energy.

Katie has made a lasting impact on healthcare students and health care in Wisconsin. We’re cheering her on as she takes on the role of managing director of University of Wisconsin-Madison's UniverCity Alliance!
