Camp Woodbrooke

Looking for a Kitchen Coordinator for this summer. They would help with prep and cooking of meals using mostly organic, fresh ingredients and garden produce. We serve wholesome fresh meals and use as much produce from our garden as possible. Meals are for up to 80 people. Responsibilities include (and are not limited to) ordering food, cooking, and supervising counselors who help in the kitchen. Please lead anyone to our website who has an interest! Thank you!

Hello, community. It looks like our second Kitchen Coordinator backed out on us only a week before camp starts. If you have any leads for us at all, we would greatly appreciate it. We have someone who will potentially fill the position for us temporarily, but this is not their calling (just their way of being an awesome human). Call the Director's cell phone, email us, send a pigeon, or whatever you can to assist and we will listen! Please, thank you, and cross your fingers with us!

If anyone has a lead for a Kitchen Coordinator, we might need one. All fingers crossed that the one we have now works out, but I may need a backup and camp is starting soon! :(

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Coordinator/Cook to join our team for the summer. This leadership role requires strong organizational skills and a passion for cooking, especially for groups. The Kitchen Coordinator will oversee meal preparation for up to 70 campers, manage assistants, and plan menus that cater to various dietary needs using fresh ingredients sourced from our garden. At Camp Woodbrooke, we’re striving to change that. Our two-week summer camps give kids ages 7–15 the chance to:

At Camp Woodbrooke, our primary mission is to provide a nurturing, safe, and sacred place for children to experience the natural world, take appropriate risks, and gain confidence. The recent tragedy at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison has shaken us. Is there no safe place for our children to grow?

For the families affected by the violence, we offer solace. As you navigate this period, we hope you uncover moments of peace and strength, personally and collectively. More broadly, there are waves of impact passing through our wider community. A single incident can make us feel unsafe for a long time. We need to actively help each other heal. The City of Madison has posted some resources which we have linked to the bottom of the post.

There will be calls for more surveillance and prevention measures, but these things do not address roots of the problem, which are too little mental health access and too much gun access. We demand a more holistic approach built on compassion and justice. By working towards treating everyone with respect, we can build a community where violence will be unthinkable.
