In 2007, archaeologists unearthed a remarkable 2,200-year-old tomb in Turpan, China, revealing the remains of a man with a unique prosthetic leg. The man's leg was severely deformed, with the kneecap, thigh bone, and shinbone fused together at a sharp angle. Attached to this deformed limb was a prosthetic leg, crafted with a horse hoof as its tip. Evidence of wear on the prosthetic suggested that it had been used extensively, hinting at the man's remarkable resilience and adaptability in the face of his physical limitations.
