Well March just blew by!!!! Here are some pictures of all of our adventures in March. We celebrated Dr. Seuss and Read Across America week. We made traps for the leprechaun it didnt work again this year! We had a farm bring us eggs, we took care of them for a week and then had 12 chicks to play with! We also had visits from several therapy dogs. Our month was full of fun, now onto April's adventures!

We were so excited to celebrate our 100th day of school on February 5th. We made 100th day art projects, got 100th day stickers, hats, bracelets and tattoos!

So here is a glimpse into May and June here at Acorn Academy. We celebrated our teachers in May. We are very lucky to have such a dedicated team here at Acorn. We celebrated our dads in June. We have a great group of fathers here at Acorn! A Happy Father's day was had by all. We watched our caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies and then we set them free! That was so exciting! Our garden is in full bloom. Pictures of our harvest will be next. Enjoy the summer weather!

Where did April go? We had so much fun this month it just flew by. We celebrated the week of the young child and Easter. We also starting planting in our garden. What will we grow this year? Happy spring to all!!

How could we pack so much into one week? Well we did! Read across America and Dr. Seuss' birthday mean lots of fun! Pajama day, silly hair day, silly sock day, silly hat day, team jersey day and mystery readers galore, including the Cat in the Hat herself! We had reading challenges, with multiple winners. Oh, and ducklings! We hatched 5 adorable ducklings! Now onto spring, fingers crossed!

Giving everyone a glimpse into our last 6 weeks here at Acorn. We had a pizza kit fundraiser. We purchased the pizza kits from Romanelli's. We then went home and made our own pizza for dinner! We had the dentist visit. Carter Dental gave us a wonderful presentation on keeping our teeth clean! We celebrated our 100th day of school and had a guessing raffle fundraiser! We collected food for the food Interfaith Food Pantry. We donated 123 pounds of food! Farmer Joe came with ducks this year! He left us 8 eggs to care for. We hope to have 8 ducklings to play with next week! And lastly we had the opportunity to find out what that music was that we hear all the time through our walls. The United Methodist Church in Madison invited us into the sanctuary for a lesson on playing the organ! The kids all had an opportunity to listen, play and sing. We are so lucky to have had this experience. Thank you to Diane Pivarnik for sharing your talent with our little ones! Oh, we also snuck in a pajama day!

December came so fast, i forgot to post a pictures from some of our November events. We celebrated Veterans day by having one of our dads come in and share his experiences in the military. We had a pajama day! With November having a few really unusually warm days, we got to run around outside in our P.J.'s! We had a fundraising event/art show at Sotheby's in Madison, which was very successful. And Rudolph was spotted by one of families spying on some of our children for Santa! Be on the look out!
