Yesterday, the admin team welcomed our new Clinical Research Coordinator, Riko Lee and Clinical Research Fellow, Santanna Patterson, with cake 🎂😊

Our dermatology department had our research retreat and heard from our keynote speaker, Dr. Safdar, learn about department research, and host our own department research shark tank!

Congratulations to our shark tank winners Dr. Yan, Dr. Privalle and UWSMPH medical student Richies! We can’t wait to learn more about psoriasis and the role of strep as well as improved patient resulting using AI.

The VA celebrated Dr. Endo’s birthday yesterday! Thank you senior resident Dr. Choi for planning. ✨🥳🎂 He keeps getting younger and younger each year! 🌟

Yesterday, our team went out to see the new Eastpark site for a tour. Exciting things to come!

The last day of continuity clinic for some of our seniors. It’s a bitter sweet moment as our residents spend 3 years with the same continuity team. ❤️ Our seniors will be so missed.

On June 11 there was an APP appreciation breakfast event to share the incredible comments, thank you’s and appreciation words from the department. We are thankful to have an incredibly strong APP team led by Michelle Elmer MSPAS, PA-C. Please join us in sharing our appreciation for our APP’s! 🙌✨

Last month, Maya Muldowney and Dr. Beth Drolet, attended the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA) World Congress in Madrid, Spain!

Maya is one of our Clinical Researh Fellows and she gave a talk on “Lightning striking twice: patients with two distinct vascular malformations.” Great job, Maya!

Please give a big Wisconskin congratulations to our 2023-2024 senior residents and Mohs fellow. We are so proud of everything they have accomplished in their training here and look forward to all they will accomplish moving forward. They will be deeply missed! ✨👏

🌟Dr. Allison Miller will be staying on as faculty after completing a pediatric dermatology fellowship. She will be our first pediatric derm fellow and are beyond thrilled to have her. She will continue to leave a lasting impact on her patients and the department.

🌟Dr. Jeffrey Hu will be completing his Dermatopathology fellowship at OHSU for 2024-2026. Dr. Hu has been an excellent dermatology resident and excels in complex medical, general, surgical dermatology and will continue to be excellent behind the scope!

🌟Dr. Kimberly Sable will be completing a Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship at Emory 2024-2025. She has been an incredible advocacy leader, senior resident and has excelled in all aspects. We know she will continue to make an impact on the dermatology community through advocacy work and dermatological surgery.

🌟Dr. Kristen Chen will be joining private practice at Dermatology Consultants of Marin/MarinHealth Dermatology in San Rafael, CA. Dr. Chen has been an incredible doctor for her general dermatology patients and help lead the cosmetic curriculum for residents.

🌟Dr. Traci Pawlitschek will be joining private practice at Billings Clinic in Billings MT. Dr. Pawlitschek has made a lasting impression and impact on all her patients, residents and the community. She has led multiple community advocacy events and no doubt continue to serve her community as a doctor and advocacy leader.

🌟Dr. George Zakhem completed his Mohs Micrographic Fellowship with us from 2023-2024. He will be joining SSM locally in Madison and serving patients. He has been an incredible mentor and teacher to all the residents and will be greatly missed.
