Students for Rare (SFR) and the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) have teamed up with the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) and Dr. Bridget Shields from dermatology to bring a patient’s lived experience (Family Nurse Practitioner Jessica Reid), advocacy efforts, and the medical underpinnings of an often mentioned but marginalized disease, sarcoidosis. We invite you to join a virtual watch party for the 14th annual Black Women’s Wellness Day. This two day transformational summit is sponsored by The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness and the virtual watch party will be held at UW SMPH and sponsored by the Student National Medical Association (SNMA). Our virtual watch party is designed for Black women and those who support the health, well-being, and promotion of wellness among our community and offers the opportunity to come together to discuss the topics at the event and build community /interact on our campus around these topics.
Refreshments will be served and there will be prizes for attendees 😊

The Student National Medical Association (SNMA), established in 1964, is the oldest and largest independent, student-run organization focused on the needs and concerns of black medical students in the United States. It was established as a subdivision of the National Medical Association in 1964 by medical students from Howard University and Meharry Medical College. The organization is committed to supporting current and future underrepresented minority medical students, addressing the needs of underserved communities, and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicians.
