Our 3rd graders are programming Roz to complete exciting camping challenges inspired by The Wild Robot!

πŸͺ΅ How many trees can Roz chop down to build her nest?
🌲 Can you program Roz to follow a forest path to find Brightbill?
🐟 Program Brightbill to swim safely while avoiding the sneaky Rockmouth!

Coding, problem-solving, collaboration, and storytelling all rolled into one wild adventure! πŸ’» πŸ€– πŸ”₯ Lydia Middleton Elementary School

πŸš€ A little rocket science in 3rd and 4th? Absolutely!

Our 3rd and 4th graders have been blasting into learning as they explored the Artemis II mission while designing and building their own Estes model rockets. Along the way, students collected data, investigated energy, and experienced STEM learning in action!

Friday was LAUNCH DAY, and the excitement was sky-high as students launched their rocket into the air! 🌀️ Watching the countdowns, liftoffs, and cheering families made for an unforgettable experience.

This project was made possible by supporters through Donorschoose & Madison Consolidated Schools Education Foundation, as well as 3 High School student volunteers. We want to give a πŸ’«STELLAR✨ Thank You for your support! Deputy Elementary School-MCS

Kindergarten students in Ms. Cahall and Ms. McCulley's classes put their creativity to the test during a STEM challenge this afternoon. Using toothpicks and jelly beans, they designed and built houses for the Peeps. So much creativity and fun all in one activity!

As we begin spring break, we wanted to share something amazing that the Lydia community has accomplished over the past 8 years!

Our 4th grade teachers received an updated total letting them know that we have raised over $12,500 for H2O for Life. This is enough money to build two wells! They say one well can save 500 to 1,000 lives.

It’s truly the students and the families at Lydia that made this happen. We would love for current and former Lydia students should know what they accomplished! They are true world changers.
