A Proclamation from Governor Tony Evers: Make Music Day Wisconsin ():

WHEREAS; originally inspired by France's national music holiday Fête de la Musique, and observed annually on the summer solstice, Make Music Day is a global one day festival that celebrates the creation of music by encouraging the public to make music in public spaces in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries around the world; and WHEREAS; Wisconsin is a proud partner in America’s Make Music Day, having participated since 2013 when the state's first chapter, Make Music Madison, was launched; WHEREAS; Make Music Day Wisconsin involves musicians, bands, orchestras, groups, and ensembles making music in-person and virtually - all completely free for musicians and audiences, alike -and showcases a diverse array of styles and genres, from classical and hip hop to jazz, blues, folk, pop, rock, rap, Americana, and world music; and WHEREAS; the Wisconsin communities participating in Make Music Day Wisconsin 2026 are Amery, Appleton, Ashland, Beloit, Cable, DeForest, Green Bay, Kenosha, Land O'Lakes, Madison, Middleton, Milwaukee, Platteville, Spooner/Shell Lake, Stevens Point, Sun Prairie, Superior, Verona, and Waunakee; and WHEREAS; statewide partners in Make Music Day Wisconsin include Create Wisconsin, Wisconsin Public Radio, Wisconsin Area Music Industry, and Wisconsin School Music Association; WHEREAS; today, as we celebrate the summer solstice and Make Music Day, the state of Wisconsin salutes the communities involved in Make Music Day Wisconsin in celebrating the creation of music and recognizing music as a universal language that unites all people."
