Dear Mamba family & friends,

As the final games end on a season filled with sweat, smiles, tears & unforgettable memories, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve shared together. It’s with a mix of bittersweet emotions that I announce the conclusion of our beloved Mad City Mambas basketball program. While it’s hard to say goodbye, I want to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude to each & every one of you who have been a part of this amazing adventure. To the players—your dedication, passion, & growth have been nothing short of inspiring. Whether you were sinking three-pointers, perfecting your layups, or cheering from the sidelines, you have filled our gym with energy & enthusiasm. It has been an honor to watch you develop over the years not just as athletes, but as individuals who respect each other and the game. Remember, basketball is more than just a sport; it’s a lesson in teamwork, perseverance, and resilience—skills that will serve you well on & off the court. To the parents & guardians—thank you for entrusting us with your most precious treasures. Your unwavering support, early morning travels, late practices, & endless encouragement have made this program a safe haven for our youth. Your commitment has been the backbone of our success, and we are so grateful for the trust you placed in us. We hope you’ve seen the same growth in your children that we have—both in their skills and in their character. To our Coaches and amazing community—thank you for embracing our program and allowing us to be a part of your lives. We have forged friendships and created bonds that will last a lifetime. Your belief in our mission to develop young athletes via athletics, books, mentorship, and fostering a love for the hard work it takes to play this game well has been the fuel that kept us going. Together, we’ve built a supportive environment where reality was made clear & dreams were nurtured. I truly hope the friendships formed and the lessons learned will forever resonate in our hearts. Congratulations 7th grade class of 2030 Mad City Mambas!! You’re the Next Level Summer Finale Champions!! 🏆 You guys played great team basketball today and got the mission accomplished. Proud of all of you! Let’s keep it going!

Great job today by these guys. They played 17u all season long & it was all about developing for a team of mostly 2027 sophomores & ended just one game away from being champs in their last tournament. Coach Brandon we all appreciate you for making their season happen. Good luck the rest of way to you all!!

WOW! That’s all I can say to describe my experience Coaching this group of hardworking scrappy young players. We weren’t always the most skilled. We weren’t always the biggest. We weren’t always the fastest, and we had many of you playing up. Regardless to the challenges you guys always fought your butts off, supported, and encouraged each other throughout. So It was truly a honor and a pleasure to have you all. Especially with how it all came together last minute. 😅 Last but not least , thank you to all of the great parents for trusting me to Coach your kids. Any coach will tell you how much more special & better the team environment is when parents aren’t calling complaining about other team players, you pushing their child too hard, or not playing someone enough. I received nothing but all of your full support from start to finish & it was great appreciated. It’s a bitter sweet ending to our season but I wish every last one of you the best in everything you do moving forward. Just always remember, why be good when you can be great? & never allow yourself to be comfortable throughout your development into a great person, great student, & great athlete. 🫡 📚🏀🎓

What a weekend. After benching our most dominant players for nearly half of the first game to place an emphasis on team, character, & discipline we took a much bigger loss than necessary. However, this was needed and I’m very happy with the way these guys responded to that with 4 big wins in a row to become the Gold consolation bracket champions. These guys are slowly but surely learning to keep the 5 individuals on the court playing together and locked in like a fist in order to fight back and compete with well coached and more skilled teams.💪🏾 Shout out to the amazing Parents of these guys too. You are all as positive and supportive of your kids and their Coach as they come!! It’s appreciated more than you know when you can coach kids hard and the parents reinforce the message vs coddling & overly praising mediocrity. Let’s keep going and growing as a TEAM!! Congratulations guys and HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all of the AMAZING Moms that spent their time in hotels, gyms, and cars traveling home all day! 🌹

Congratulations once more to Michael Wilson on becoming the all time leading scorer at Madison West High School!! This has been a great experience for us all to share in with you! You have worked your butt off on and off the court to be here and you have every right to be proud of yourself Mike!! 💪🏾 Thank you to Madison West High School , all of Mikes Varsity coaches (Drew, Shawn, Mitchell, Quan) including his former Varsity Coach Keith Stewart who set Mike on this path as a freshman, counselors, teachers, and every single family member and friend that’s supported him throughout this journey. It truly takes a village and we appreciate you all! Special shoutout to my boy Alando & Coach Brown with . It’s my experiences early on with my brother Alando who much later introduced me to Coach Brown who literally allowed me in his gym to study and take notes on a style of training and coaching that is not for the weak!!! You two are what has been the foundation for building on what we call development in the mambas program & I’ll forever be grateful for the basketball knowledge you guys have given me to help the youth in my city. Lastly and most importantly, shout out to Mikes Mom aka Redd ! We’ve been like fam since Mike & Tre been in 3rd & 4th grade & no matter how many times we might have bumped heads early on 😅 it’s been your ongoing & growing trust in my genuine love , character, guidance, and dedication to the importance of the boys learning to become GOOD YOUNG MEN over just developing into the OK/Scrub 😂 ball players they all are now…. all trash. 🤣 But back in the day You/We took a lot of criticism and name calling but those decisions have allowed us all to be in this moment together right now & you deserve your flowers just as much as anyone else so we (Mike & I ) thank & love you Redd for always helping us have the space do what we do! 🙏🏾 📚🏀🎓
