Our Summer Odyssey and Sunshines class had the best time at the Cave of the Mounds National Natural Landmark ! We learned so much, thanks to our tour guides! There are many rock formations in the cave, including stalactites and stalagmites, limestone, flowstone, and even cave bacon! 🥓
We were given the extra special opportunity to use a sluice (a water-filled trough typically used to pan for precious minerals) to sift through sand kits containing rocks, minerals and fossils!
