Parents are not expected to instinctively know how to change serious behavior challenges.

Parent Management Training teaches practical skills such as effective instructions, positive reinforcement, strategic attention, practice, and consistent follow-through. These tools help parents move from reacting in the moment to intentionally teaching the behavior their child needs.

Consistency isn't about having a perfect schedule. It's about creating an environment where children know what to expect.

When routines are predictable, children feel more secure, understand expectations more clearly, and have more opportunities to practice positive behaviors. That's why consistency is one of the most effective tools parents can use to support long-term behavior change.

Progress deserves to be celebrated. 👏

Don't wait for perfection before offering praise or rewards.

Rewarding small steps toward a goal helps build confidence, encourages consistency, and makes lasting behavior change much more achievable. Every success, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction.

Reward charts often work briefly and then lose momentum because the chart itself is not the entire intervention.

For a reward system to be effective, parents need to clearly define the target behavior, choose meaningful rewards, reinforce soon after the behavior occurs, pair rewards with specific praise, and gradually adjust the system as the child makes progress.

The goal is not to use a chart forever. It is to strengthen a behavior until it becomes more consistent.
