What an amazing day at the Wisconsin Digital Symposium!

Held at Lambeau Field, this 5th annual Symposium brought together leaders from across industries to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of digital innovation. From thought-provoking keynotes to engaging conversations around AI, digital transformation, and innovation, today was filled with ideas that challenged and inspired us.

A huge thank you to our speakers, panelists, partners, and attendees for making this year’s Symposium such a meaningful experience. The energy, curiosity, and collaboration in the room were a powerful reminder of what’s possible when leaders come together to shape the future of digital.

The countdown is on! We have just the weekend left until the Wisconsin Digital Symposium on June 1, and registration is still open.

As we get closer to the event, we’re spotlighting a few of the experiences attendees can look forward to.

Fourth up: The extras.

The Wisconsin Digital Symposium offers more than a full day of insights and discussion. Attendees can also look forward to unique extras that make the experience even more engaging, memorable, and valuable.

We’re excited to collaborate with our campus partner, the Grainger Institute for Engineering, to welcome back Boston Dynamics’ quadruped robots. Attendees will have the opportunity to see and interact with the robots and learn how this technology is helping shape the future of manufacturing and digital integration.

Live graphic recording, a signature element of UWEBC events, will capture key ideas from the program in real time through visual storytelling. This year’s recording will be brought to life by Sherrill Knezel, whose work helps turn complex conversations into clear, engaging visuals that attendees can revisit and share.

From 2:00–3:00 p.m., attendees will have dedicated executive networking time to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and continue the conversations sparked throughout the symposium.

Finally, every registered attendee will receive a complimentary copy of Phil’s book, Irresistible Change, extending the learning beyond the event.

Transformational change is never easy, especially at a time when multiple technologies are reaching critical inflection points at once. As Scott Graf noted, one of the greatest challenges organizations face is balancing strong leadership, a clear vision, and institutional knowledge with the need to keep pace with rapid technological advancement. Jon Hobgood reinforced that idea, emphasizing the importance of cutting through the noise to focus on what truly matters: which tools are delivering real-world results, which core business challenges need to be addressed, and where the highest-impact opportunities exist.

As Jenny Patzlaff shared, UWEBC’s Wisconsin Digital Symposium on June 1 and Wisconsin Drives Manufacturing Summit on June 2 will build on these themes by bringing industry leaders together to share practical insights and proven approaches. Through keynote presentations, UW–Madison Research Lightning Talks, executive panels, and real-world manufacturing examples, both events are designed to help organizations move from insight to action and drive meaningful, sustainable change.

While digital change can be difficult, the risk of becoming irrelevant is far greater.

Today’s Leadership Alignment: On the Mission and Value of Marketing was a huge success!

Members discussed how marketing is often still viewed as “advertising and sales support” rather than as a strategic engine spanning across all 7Ps. Together, participants explored how misaligned definitions, short-term expectations, and unclear metrics can make it difficult for marketing leaders to communicate their full impact to the C-suite. The session created space for thoughtful discussion, peer debate, and practical ways to better articulate marketing’s mission, value, and role across the full 7Ps.

A big thank you to Anne Norman, Chief Marketing Officer of UW Credit Union, for sharing how UW Credit Union has incorporated the 7Ps to create a more holistic marketing strategy.

A further big thank you to our panelists for sharing their expertise and real-world perspectives across industries:
👏 Aly Blawat, Blain’s Farm & Fleet
👏 Sean Rudi, Promega
👏 Jennifer Stiansen, Oshkosh

And thank you to everyone who joined the conversation and contributed to such a thoughtful and engaging discussion. We’re excited to see how these ideas help marketing leaders strengthen alignment, clarify impact, and translate marketing’s value more effectively within their organizations.

In the afternoon, a full-plenary keynote conversation will focus on new opportunities for small and mid-sized manufacturers in Wisconsin, including how manufacturers across the state can adapt, compete, and grow in a rapidly changing landscape.

The day will also feature plenary panels, breakout tracks, and a closing keynote from Brian Thompson, Chief Innovation Officer at UW-Milwaukee, focused on the future of Wisconsin manufacturing and the actions needed to keep building momentum across the state.

UWEBC is excited to offer Wisconsin Digital Symposium attendees complimentary passes to this powerful summit.
