It takes a village to raise a child. That age old adage seems to cross over species lines as well. We have baby water fouls, especially mallard ducks and geese right now and I watch the mother geese join their babies into 1 flock so they can watch and protect them better. Mallards on the other hand do not join together and if a lost chick tries to join the family the mother will drown it. She is ensuring her babies have the best and she does not give 1 damn about that lost baby. Nature amazes and destroys me every day on the lake, but I can think of no place I would rather work. I'm immersed in the cycle of life and although sometimes sad it keeps you grounded in a way nothing else can.
May your days be filled with love and light
And your night be kissed by the moon!

I finally got a weight on my pine tar. I wound up with 1 full pound. I feel like that is pretty good. I made a loaf of pine tar soap last night. Made it hot process to speed it's curing along. I have it doused in salt to remove the moisture. This will make a hard and long lasting soap. I will have this soap available at Madison City Farmers Market on Saturday the 16th and on my online Farmers Market.. local line Huntsville hub. Great little setup they have. You can get online starting Thursday at midnight and order through Sunday midnight. Then you just drive down to Governor's Drive at the Stove House and pick up your order on Tuesday. They also have a limited delivery area so you can check that out if you don't want to drive over. I do totally different stuff on there instead of all herbs I do a lot of baking. Slide over to local line and look at Mama Kat's I'm sure there's something you need. LOL I suggest the Japanese Milk Bread or English Muffins and grab some jam while you are there!
With love and light,

Final tar results! I have to strain it and weigh it now. I wonder how much tar 3 weeks of random gathering got me.

Notably, the Ganoderma sessile, also referred to as Artist bracket, is thriving at the base of my dying old Maple tree and surrounding roots. This mushroom is a powerhouse, exhibiting restrained growth of breast cancer tumors and lung metastases. Furthermore, it possesses immuno-modulatory, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties to balance free radicals and combat oxidative stress, as well as neuroprotective and hepatoprotective effects. To maximize its potential, a double-extracted elixir is recommended to ensure the optimal utilization of this fungi's benefits.
