Lack of CO Safety awareness and emergency planning looks like this:

– no on-site CO-specific alarms or detection devices
– keeping children inside of the building regardless of where CO is accumulating
– not having a way to get students to an "off-site" location quickly and orderly
– bringing children inside the building before having it cleared by qualified professionals
– Naming CO2 as the issue when you're discussing carbon monoxide (CO)
– Not naming the exact source producing CO, last service date, and next steps clearly and immediately
– Not providing training and risk disclosure to faculty, occupants, and/or guardians each calendar year

Parents will absolutely use social media to provide the details your press releases leave out, so our advice is to be as clear and honest as possible from the beginning.
