We have lost another classmate. Judy Graham passed away..

Judy passed Thursday August 7th at 6:28 p.m. as her mother moon rose up and peaked through the clouds. We will forever call the August full moon: Judy's moon. Judy was born in Madison, WI and died in Durango CO near her beloved home and mountains in Silverton CO. Judy is survived by her daughter Quai J. Barker (Geoff E. Worchester), grandsons Bradley T. Gurule and Blake A. Gurule and granddaughter Brooklyn E. Worchester, and her beloved John Richardson who now has her darling dog Asher, Sisters Patti Graham and Susan Haas, brother Bob Graham, and many loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Beth and W.T. Graham. A gathering to celebrate Judy's life will be held November 1st at Lutheran Memorial Church, 1021 University Ave. Madison, WI. Service at 10:30 with light lunch to follow.

Ginny Jallings is here visiting me. We both thought it was odd that we hadn’t heard from our classmate, Wayne Ayers. Both of us were worried that something might’ve happened. We googled and found out that Wayne passed away. That is so sad. He was such a kind, gentle person.

Sad to share our classmate Carol Bandy’s obit. The original one is on legacy.com but her sister, Cindy, sent me this one with mention of West in it❤️

Carol Oberdorfer, age 78, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, California, following complications from COVID-19. Born on December 24, 1945, in Bethesda, Maryland, Carol led a life marked by academic achievement and professional excellence, Over the years she quietly and lovingly provided support, encouragement and appreciation to others. Not one to seek attention, she generously attended to the needs of family and friends.She grew up in Madison Wisconsin and attended Randall School and West High. She pursued her undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin, where she earned a B.A. in Russian and Slavic Languages. Her passion for learning led her to further studies at Harvard University then later transitioned into the legal profession, obtaining her law degree from the University of Houston.She dedicated over 30 years of her career to the Bureau of National Affairs. Active in the Newspaper Guild, she served as an officer mediating disputes between employees and managers with strength and sound advice. On staff she served many years as Editor of the Patent, Trademark, and Copyright Journal. Her leadership and expertise significantly impacted the field of intellectual property law.. Upon her retirement, colleagues praised her skill at recognizing disparate points of view and distilling them into an objective balanced report. Journalism at its finest!Wherever Carol lived, she was actively engaged in the community interests, be it protecting the land on Sugarloaf Mountain and tending their vegetable garden in Dickerson MD, volunteering at the DC women’s shelter, or adding her artistic skills to a mural in Albany CA. Carol is survived by her loving husband, Michael Oberdorfer; her son, Peter Oberdorfer and his wife, Melanie Oberdorfer, and her cherished grandchildren, Jack and Marcus. She is also survived by her sister Jane McWilliams, twin Cindy O’Brien, and sister Helen Spiegelman.Carol's life was a testament to dedication, both in her professional endeavors and her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
