Adult and Career Education of Central VA Localities in Region 2000
ACE of Central VA serves an area of 2,000 square miles with a population of just over 252,000 in the heart of Virginia.

ACE provides free adult education classes in the region specializing in English Language Acquisition, Literacy & Math Skills, College & Career Readiness, workforce preparation, & Integrated Education Training. ACE works with each of its localities to strengthen the regional workforce by increasing the number of adults completing a secondary school credential, entering post-secondary education and

training, and entering/retaining employment. The region consists of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell counties, the towns of Altavista, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Brookneal, and the city of Lynchburg. In this region, 22% of adults age 25 years and over (31,655) do not have a high school diploma or equivalency compared to a state average of 14%.
