Two of our members attended the SJR Sectional Officer Leadership Conference today in Bakersfield where they worked to develop skills that will help them plan and facilitate event for the chapters in our section. Luis Madera is serving as the WFM President and Luz Rodriguez is serving as the WFM Vice President.

Congratulations to the 12 members who earned their American FFA Degrees this year! The American FFA degree is the highest degree a member can earn in the organization, with less than 1% reaching this achievement. They join the other 205 alumni who have earned this honor.

🌟🌟National Proficiency Finalists🌟🌟
Congratulations to Saray Madriz and Christopher Tornero for being named National Proficiency Finalists! They were chosen as one of the top four projects in the nation in their areas and will compete for the Championship this fall!

The last day of the California State Fair saw Mathew Machado winning Reserve Champion in the Champion Challenge contest. Mathew earned his way into the finals by winning the large animal contest and reserve in the small animal. In the finals he interviewed with the State Fair Board of Directors about the agriculture industry in California. Congratulations Mathew!

Our fabrication team competed at the CYAE Fabrication contest this week and was selected as one of the top 2 projects! They will find out results tonight in the Champion Drive. The top 2 projects also get to sell in the auction. Contact Mr. Deniz if you’d like more information on how to purchase their bbq!

Our last day at the CA State Fair saw Mathew and Saray competing in Master Showmanship. Mathew placed first and Saray placed 4th. A great way to end an amazing week! Tuesday we find out how Mathew does in the Champion Challenge contest.

Today was the Small Animal Champion Challenge at the State Fair. Both Saray and Mathew competed in the rabbit division. Mathew was named the Reserve Champion in the Rabbit Division and the Reserve Overall Champion for Small Animals. He will represent both large and small animal in the Champion Challenge interviews next week.
