It’s Open Enrollment! We are accepting applications from current 5th-7th grade students for the 2026-27 school year. Deadline is December 1, 2025 at 4pm. There are community info meetings happening Saturday, November 15 at 10am and Monday, November 17 at 6pm at the school (51 E Adell St) if you want to learn more about our program!

One of our favorite field trips of the year - the Madera Showcase - gave our students a hands-on look at local career paths in engineering, medical, and law enforcement! We're so fortunate to have such an incredible community willing to open their doors and share their knowledge with the next generation.

Our engineering group met with Madera City engineers, built water filters and bridges (some sturdier than others!), and got a behind-the-scenes look at how our city runs. Over at Camarena Health, students explored real medical facilities and even practiced dental cleanings and taking vitals. At the Madera Police Department, students toured everything from dispatch to patrol cars and learned what it really takes to serve and protect.

Huge thanks to our amazing hosts and to our chaperones and staff who made this trip unforgettable! The spark of curiosity (and future career dreams) was shining bright today - Go Ravens!

We would like to congratulate our STA Math Team on their first place finishes at this year's Madera County Math Tournament 🏆 It's no surprise that this amazing group of talented math whizzes brought home the win for both the 7th and 8th grade competitions, as well as several first place finishes in individual events and categories.

Way to go, Ravens! You amaze and inspire us each day, and we are so proud of your extraordinary achievements 🙌

STA families were asked to put their heads together and flex their civil engineering skills at our 3rd Quarter Family Night. 🏗

Tasked with an (almost) impossible mission, STA students and their families raced against each other to build a free standing structure at least 27" tall using nothing but dry spaghetti sticks and marshmallows.

STA attended 's Berry Farm Physics Day to experience the laws of physics first-hand! 🎢

All of our stellar students had a thrilling time riding roller-coasters as well as participating in exciting activities that brought insight into the real-world applications of physics.

🏆 Our incredible Ravens put in the work to bring home the glory at Madera County's Academic Pentathlon 🏆

Join us in congratulating this dedicated group of exemplary STEM Academy students who studied hundreds of pages of academic material every week since the beginning of the school year in preparation for Academic Pentathlon.

Our students had a record-breaking year, with 11 students earning over 22 individual medals and the STA team earning 1st Place for the entire competition! Way to go, Ravens!💪

We would like to thank Madera County Superintendent of Schools, Kristi Winter, and all of you who support our students in achieving exceptional academic outcomes that prepare our students for brighter futures. ✨

STEM Academy students engaged in an exciting Roller Coaster Challenge 🎢

Each team had to engineer and construct their own roller coasters from common household materials. Extensive testing for design function followed, as teams attempted to safely and successfully roll their "passenger" (a single ball bearing) down their coasters. Congratulations to our Challenge winners, who were awarded the most points based on a vertical drop (highest point), vertical loop(s), and time to completion formula.

Our STA students are able to explore hands-on applications of engineering design through activities like the Roller Coaster Challenge, which inspires critical thinking and innovation. 👨🏽‍🔬👩🏾‍🔬

Earlier this month, our STEM Academy students were able to visit and tour through several of the departments, exploring programs of study and course offerings.

Students were introduced to the Cal Poly motto, "Learn by Doing," and were able to experience a couple of hands-on activities through their tours. Current Cal Poly students also shared their college experiences and perspectives in a panel presentation as well as an overview of their chosen programs of study, giving our STEM Academy students an opportunity to visualize their future educational endeavors.

Last week, STA held their 8th annual campus Chess Tournament, giving participants the opportunity to battle it out for the win and secure their title as 2025's Chess Champion. 🏆

Each of our participants had a great time strategizing their moves and vying for a finalist match. Congratulations to our Chess Champion and runners-up! 🙌

Our Research Lab students were able to perform dissections on a sheep brain, heart, kidney, and eye, as well as examine the tendons of chicken feet. They later shared their observations and findings with the Science Lecture group. 🔬👨🏽‍🏫
