Archives Student Assistants Ariana, Areana, Candace, and Raven have curated 2 exhibits for Black History Month. The first is a visual timeline that celebrates the 50th anniversary of Wesleyan’s Black Student Alliance organization which was founded in 1972. The display consists of newspaper articles, yearbooks and photos that spotlights former members and various events hosted by BSA like fashion shows and Black History Month programs. The second display highlights a couple of notable Black writers and thinkers of the 20th century with books that were donated to the Willet Memorial Library including signed editions by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Toni Morrison and Octavia Butler.
This exhibit will be open Monday -Friday 8am-5pm with evening hours Monday-Thursday by appointment until March 17th. @ Wesleyan College - First For Women

A first edition of Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community? signed by Dr. King is now on display in the lobby of Willet Library. Published in 1967 by Harper & Row Publishers, it was the last book he wrote. This copy of the book was donated by Esther E. Ewell in March 1973. The book is permanently housed in the Rare Books Room with the call number GA 301.451 K55w. The library also has a newer edition of the book that can be checked out.
Stop by the library to see the display created by Rhiannon Bruner.
