So proud of the High School students! They have successfully designed and printed a 3-4 color Lino Reduction Print. They designed, planned, and layered print colors to achieve these great results. Aren’t they beautiful?! Andy Warhol’s work in the Pop Art Movement was our inspiration.

High School Students have finished their weaving unit and have made the most beautiful woven wall hangings. They learned three different techniques and the designed and created their own idea. I’m so proud!! Best part is that we took time to see how other cultures use weaving. Weaving happens all over the world in a variety of forms from wearable textiles to baskets 🙂

The 4th&5th graders were so inspired by the middle schooler’s Candy Shoes that they wanted to do their own versions. So here are a few that were early finishers! They really worked hard and the POP ART Candy Shoes turns out great.
Each shoe is designed after a delicious candy!

This week students have been creating Aritist Trees in the sketchbooks. Each student selected an artwork and was challenged to create a Christmas tree in the style of that artwork.
The students did awesome!! You can really see the similarities between the artwork and their tree design.
These photos are in-progress pics from 2nd grade! At the end of class we had an art walk with lined up sketchbooks and we had to match which artwork went with which tree design. The students all felt very proud of their work!!

First graders have been learning about symmetry and warm colors as they’ve worked on their beautiful Monarch Butterfly artwork. Did you know the fall is when these amazing creatures migrate all the way to Mexico?
