🐾 Porter Panthers are Showing Up and Showing Out! 🐾

What an incredible week of learning, leadership, and school spirit at Porter Elementary!

🎉 Students had a blast participating in our Attendance Awareness Week spirit days as we celebrated the importance of being present and engaged each day.

📚 Our 5th-grade students are diving into rigorous grade-level texts and collaborating with their peers to strengthen their reading comprehension, discussion, and critical thinking skills.

💻 Ms. Sargent and Ms. Beard have been working with 4th-grade students to build their technology skills through Book Creator, integrating science and writing while increasing students' digital literacy and creativity. Instructional Innovation Bibb County Schools

🌟 Students who met their 1st 6-Weeks AR Goals were recognized by our amazing media specialist, Ms. Chambless! We are proud of our readers and their commitment to growing as lifelong learners.

🐾 Our Pre-K students continue to demonstrate outstanding PAWS expectations during transitions as they admired the beautiful Hispanic Heritage decor throughout the school.

📈 Porter Panthers are committed to reaching our goal of 98% Average Daily Attendance for September. Currently, we are at 97.4% attendance!

We are so thankful for all of the grandparents and special guests who joined us for our Grandparents Day celebration! It was truly a joy to see so many smiling faces gathered together to celebrate the special bond between our students and their grandparents.

📸✨ Porter Data Day: Lighting the Way for Growth! ✨📸

Today, Porter Elementary teachers came together for a day of collaboration, reflection, and action as we engaged in deep conversations around our Continuous Improvement Plan. Throughout the day, staff analyzed data related to student achievement, staff effectiveness, and stakeholder engagement to better understand where we are and where we are headed.

Teacher leaders and members of our Core Leadership Team facilitated meaningful discussions, helping teams unpack current action plans and identify the next instructional steps needed to accelerate success for every scholar. Together, we explored strengths, identified opportunities for growth, and aligned our work to ensure every student experiences the rigorous, engaging, and supportive learning environment they deserve.

At Porter, we believe that continuous improvement happens when everyone has a voice and a shared commitment to excellence. As we move forward, we will continue to partner with students, families, and staff to strengthen outcomes and create even more opportunities for success.

🐾 Student Action Teams Are Off to a Great Start! 🐾

Our Porter Panthers had an amazing time participating in our first 6-weeks Student Action Teams! Students had the opportunity to explore their interests, build new friendships, develop leadership skills, and connect with staff members through a variety of engaging activities.

From Kindness Crew and Community Service to LEGO Masters, Art, Wellness & Habit Heroes, and more, students were actively engaged in meaningful experiences that help strengthen our school community and support the whole child.

As we headed into Labor Day weekend, both students and staff had the opportunity to "sharpen the saw" by collaborating, learning, creating, and enjoying time together outside of the traditional classroom setting.

We are proud of our Porter Panthers for their enthusiasm and participation and look forward to another exciting Student Action Team session in the coming weeks!

🎉 Porter Elementary Attendance Challenge! 🎉
Porter Elementary School has set a goal of 98% Average Daily Attendance (ADA) for the month of September. We are excited to share that our final ADA for August was an outstanding 97.66%!
Thank you, Porter families, for helping us get off to such a strong start. Let's continue this positive trend by ensuring students are at school every day and on time. Together, we can meet and exceed our September goal!
