KEVIN COLE
Where Do We Go From Here?
Exploring Gerrymandering and Voting
Kevin Cole has been a trailblazing artist, a respected educator, and a fixture on the Atlanta contemporary arts scene for more than four decades. This most recent series of works, supported by the Working Artist Project of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, explores the ongoing struggle against disenfranchisement, and for the equal participation of African Americans in the divisive atmosphere of contemporary politics. The artist will visit the Museum on Saturday, June 29 to discuss his inspiration, and formal processes, as well as his social and political goals for the works in the exhibition.

The Public Art and Memorials class designed (overall design by Montague Booker) and implemented a community involved mural for our campus. Faculty, staff, and students showed up to lend their hands (literally) in support of trans human rights. The finished mural, titled “Love Without Limits” is installed next to the Reproductive Rights mural created last fall by Erin Hawkins. We are so proud of our students harnessing art to create awareness, support, and change. We are also thankful to be in a campus community that supports human rights and bodily autonomy for all. Happy Pride, may we all love without limits!! 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤
