It’s been a busy few months for sure.
I left my job of 12 years and have had 2 jobs since then. My mother passed away early this month and I have tons of overtime at my new job. My life barely resembles what it was a few weeks ago not to mention last year.

Yet... my Karate is still there and my dojo still stands.

I wanted to reach out to those who have shown interest in this page, my teaching and Karate in general. I’m still here so please feel free to reach out.

My wife made this for the dojo. Looks pretty good I think!

When I began training with my teacher I would drive an hour to train for 2 and an hour back.
I remember my first time meeting up with him I was so nervous. I had been in the martial arts for a while but this was the REAL DEAL. Got there like 40 minutes too early just sitting there deciding if I should leave or not. Eventually I would train at his house and go with him to visit other schools and so on.

Lots of one on one.

I’m very fortunate and though life hasn’t been the easiest I can honestly say I’ll train until the day I die. I love Karate.

Sometimes visiting your teacher is all you need.

Classes are cancelled until the Summer. I had to switch jobs and the training is at night so I will not be able to teach until then.

What makes us different?
Firstly, no gimmicks. Nothing to sell you on besides honest and authentic martial arts.
Even today the structured, and often non-structured, approach has something for everyone’s development starting at age 6 and up.

Secondly, we have the why.
Why forms? Why punching and blocking? Why the formal etiquette? To avoid burnout and confusion you need to offer the student context that is practical and actionable.

Lastly, we’re not just floating out in space.
We are tied to some of the greatest martial artists in the area with ongoing learning and support. You have to know what’s behind you to move forward.
