We are thrilled to introduce the newest member of the Mount de Sales Academy family. Please welcome Mrs. Morley Moore, our new Director of Learning Support!
Mrs. Moore comes to MDS with exceptional preparation for this work. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Child & Family Development, with an emphasis in Family Development from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Science in School Counseling from Mercer University. She has been working as a learning support specialist since 2014, bringing over a decade of experience serving students and families.
At Mount de Sales Academy, high standards and high levels of support go hand in hand. Mrs. Moore's arrival strengthens our commitment as we continue to provide families with the best possible faculty, staff, and educational environment.
And if you want to know what drives her, look no further than a quote from her: "Make a friend, be a friend."
You will have the chance to meet Mrs. Moore, who will be attending our upcoming event, Parent Partnership: Understanding the Adolescent Brain, on August 10 with Dr. Jared Horvath speaking at 6:00 p.m. here on campus. We hope to see you there.
Please give Mrs. Moore a warm Cavalier welcome!

Campus is action-packed with the start of Camp Cavalier!
This past week, students hit the mats at wrestling camp with Coach Franklin and alumni coaches William Griffin and Blake Jones, both from the class of 2025. Kids were running drills and practicing their best moves on the mat, with help from several of our Cavaliers who couldn't stay away from MDS all summer.
While the gym was booming with students tackling their opponents, another group of students were battling themselves in Mrs. Corum's Math Boot Camp. These kids were putting their knowledge of decimals, integers, order of operations, multiplication, and more to the test. Every placement moved them up in their own leaderboards, where they could receive a medal; many medals were won this week!
Keep checking in as we cover the highlights from Camp Cavalier all summer long!
Spots are still open in a few of our remaining sports camps. Learn more at mtdesales.link/camps

Three of our five seniors heading to Georgia Tech this fall — Betsy, Louis, and Marie — joined Mr. O’Kane for a special afternoon with Dr. Ángel Cabrera, President of , as he addressed the Rotary Club here in Macon. They even had the chance to share lunch with President Cabrera and Dr. Beth Cabrera, and our Cavaliers received more than a few shout-outs during President Cabrera’s remarks.
Mount de Sales has a long and proud tradition of graduates who go on to make their mark as Yellow Jackets. Students learn to balance academics, faith, and extra-curricular activities well before they set foot onto a college campus. We can’t wait to see what the Class of 2026 brings to Georgia Tech!

On May 20, we celebrated the graduation of our eighth-grade class during their eighth-grade closing mass. Students were nervous, excited, and eager for what their next chapter at Mount de Sales would bring.
Teachers and faculty in Cuddy Hall will miss the laughter, drive, and joy of the class of 2030. These students have grown taller, but they also hold their heads a little higher with more poise than before. They have been prepared in the middle school academically, spiritually, and socially to navigate the transitions in high school.
Enjoy the summer, Cavaliers. When you return, high school awaits!
