We're saddened to share the news that our retired colleague, Dr. Daniel Guerrant, passed away a few days ago. He was a longtime fixture of the political science program at both Middle Georgia College and Middle Georgia State in Cochran and was beloved and respected by his students and colleagues, and will be deeply missed by us all.

The chancellor of the University System of Georgia, Dr. Sonny Perdue, joined our POLS 1101 American government dual enrollment class taught by William Carroll at The Westfield School this morning in Perry. He talked with students and answered questions about his distinguished career in public service from the Houston County Planning and Zoning Commission, through the state legislature, governorship, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, and the USG.
