This week is Literacy Week! 📚✨ Students are participating in a variety of fun and engaging literacy activities. They will create both physical and digital bookmarks, browse through books to discover titles that interest them, and add their book selections to their digital bookshelf in Book Creator.

Students will also complete a Book Talk about a book they browsed or are interested in reading. This gives students an opportunity to share what caught their attention, explain why they are interested in the book, and encourage others to explore new books as well.

Our goal this week is to encourage students to explore, create, read, and share while building a stronger love for literacy! 📖💡

🧘🏾‍♀️ Wellness Wednesday: SOAR Spa Edition 🌿

Today, SOAR Academy turned into SOAR Spa Academy! We put the emails, paperwork, deadlines, and daily hustle ON DO NOT DISTURB. 🔕

Our staff slowed things ALL the way down, put on our eye masks, listened to a relaxing Happiness Sound Bath, and gave ourselves permission to simply REST, RESET, and RECHARGE.
You can’t have a proper spa day without something good to sip, we also enjoyed delicious, nutritious teas from Macon Made Nutrition.

Our intention for today was simple:

Release what’s heavy.
Rest without guilt.
Reset our minds.
And SOAR again. 🦅

Because taking care of our students starts with remembering to take care of the people who pour into them every single day.

Now listen… if anybody needs us, SOAR Spa Academy is currently accepting appointments. 😂😂

EPISODE 2: SEEING DOUBLE 👯‍♀️👯‍♂️

Yesterday at SOAR Academy…

Our teachers participated in Teacher/Student Swap Day and somehow forgot one tiny detail…

THE DRESS CODE.
Violations EVERYWHERE. 😂

Principal Dr. Lewis put everyone in ISS!

We thought that was the end of it.

WE WERE WRONG. 👀

Because everybody showed up today with an IDENTICAL ACCOMPLICE! 😭

Now administration has questions…

🧐 Which one of y’all was actually in ISS yesterday?

🧐 Which twin committed the dress-code violation?

🧐 Did somebody bring a twin just to serve their ISS time?!

And most importantly…

WHICH ONE CLOCKED IN THIS MORNING?! 😭😂😂

Dr. Lewis is currently reviewing the evidence. 📸

Until then, we have no choice but to consider BOTH TWINS SUSPECTS. 😂

So let me tell yall what had happened…. DRESS CODE VIOLATIONS EVERYWHERE!😂

Today was Teacher/Student Swap Day, and apparently when our teachers became students… they decided the dress code was OPTIONAL! 😭

👀 No belt…
👀 Shirts NOT tucked in…
👀 Uniform violations left and right…

SMH! 🤦🏾‍♀️😂

Now wait a minute… Aren’t these the SAME folks who say, “Tuck your shirt in!” and “Where is your belt?” all day long?! 🤔

Meanwhile, some of these “new students” clearly need a little dress code refresher course. 😂

We weren’t going to name names… the pictures will handle that. 📸🤣

Principal Dr. Lewis took ONE LOOK at the situation and said:

🚨 “ALL OF Y’ALL IN ISS. NOW!!!” 🚨

😂😂😂 No warnings. No conferences. No parent phone calls. Straight to ISS!

Tuesday: 👯 Twin Day — Grab a friend and dress alike!
Wednesday: 🏈 Rep Your Favorite Team — Wear your favorite team shirt or jersey!
Thursday: ❤️💛 School Spirit Wear — Show that SOAR pride!
Friday: 🌿 Camo Day — Blend in by standing out!

Now LAST WEEK, the Albany State University Rams got real comfortable and called out the FVSU Wildcats. 👀😂

Well… apparently the Fort Valley State University Wildcats don’t like being summoned, because they came THROUGH this week! 💙💛🐾

Okay, Wildcats… attendance taken.😏

So now we have just one question:

🐯 Savannah State University TIGERS… are y’all coming next week, or should we stop now? 😂😂😂

Everybody else has answered roll call.

We love highlighting higher education and reminding our students that there are so many possibilities beyond high school. Whether it’s college, career, or another pathway to success, we want our students to think about what comes next!
