Stratford alum Phillips Swift '25 finished tied at -7 at the Golfweek Fall Challenge in Pawley Island, SC. Phillips fired rounds of 67, 71, 72 to finish 6-under for the tournament. His Mercer team finished in a tie for 5th at 4 over.

It is always special to see Stratford alumni giving back! John Clark ’14 recently joined a mission day organized by St. George’s Episcopal Church at Episcopal School of Nashville with former Stratford teacher and soccer coach James Jordan, who now serves as Head of School. The group spent Saturday morning mulching, pressure washing, repairing a fence, and building an awning structure that will soon provide shade for the school’s youngest students as they enjoy the sandpit. We are proud of John and everyone involved for giving their time and talents to serve others!

Stratford on the Road made a stop in Washington, D.C. Director of Advancement, Cale Padgett, and Interim Head of School, Mr. Scott Wilson, enjoyed dinner with Bert Thompson ’12 and Molly Bayme ’11.

It was a great evening of catching up, hearing what Bert and Molly have been doing since their time at Stratford, and staying connected with members of our alumni community.

Today, Stratford had the privilege of surprising Jaime Kaplan ’79 with a small gathering honoring her extraordinary legacy as an Eagle and presenting two meaningful honors: the Jaime Kaplan Best Senior Female Athlete Award and the Jaime Kaplan Endowed Fund for Girls Athletics.

A standout student-athlete, collegiate and professional tennis player, coach, mentor, and lifelong advocate for girls athletics, Jaime has spent decades inspiring Stratford students through her love for the game, her commitment to excellence, and her belief in the power of athletics to shape young people on and off the court.

Through these honors, her legacy will continue to shape the future of girls athletics at Stratford for generations to come.

Congratulations to the 2026 Stratford Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees: 2009-2012 Varsity Softball Teams and Jonathan Hefner, Class of 2014.

2009-2012 Varsity Softball Teams
Few teams in Stratford athletics history have matched the sustained success of the 2009–2012 Varsity Softball Teams. During this remarkable four-year run, the Eagles recorded more than 100 victories and captured four consecutive GISA State Championships—an unmatched achievement in Stratford fast-pitch softball history.

Led by Coach Jeff Treadway, these teams established a championship culture built on talent, hard work, and leadership. They produced numerous All-State players, collegiate athletes, and record-setting performances, while earning every fast-pitch softball state championship in Stratford Academy history. Their legacy remains one of the greatest dynasties in Stratford athletics and continues to inspire Eagle athletes today.

Jonathan Hefner, Class of 2014
Known as one of the most accomplished multi-sport athletes in recent Stratford history, Jonathan Hefner ’14 earned four-year letterman status in football, basketball, baseball, and track. His versatility and competitive drive made him a standout wherever he competed.

On the football field, Jonathan delivered one of the greatest seasons in school history, setting single-season school records with 1,024 receiving yards and 19 touchdown receptions. He was named The Telegraph All-Middle Georgia GISA Player of the Year and earned All-State honors.

Jonathan’s success extended across every sport he played. He was an All-State performer in basketball and baseball, helped lead the Eagles to the 2014 State Basketball Championship, and was a member of four state championship track teams. Through his leadership, character, and ability to perform in the biggest moments, Jonathan left a lasting legacy on Stratford athletics.

The induction ceremony will take place on Friday, October 2, during Alumni Weekend as we celebrate two remarkable athletic accomplishments in Stratford's history.

Congratulations to Russell Henley, Class of 2007, for winning the Charles Schwab Challenge. He finished it in dramatic fashion with 3 birdies to close out the final round and hit a birdie in the first playoff hole to win the tournament!
