Today is a beautiful day to celebrate freedom, honor the incredible resilience and history of Black culture, and reflect on the ongoing journey toward true equality and community empowerment.
Whether you are taking today to rest, connecting with family, or participating in community celebrations, we hope your day is filled with joy, reflection, and pride. Happy Juneteenth from the members of Macon Alumnae.

Happy !

Today we honor the legacy of the last enslaved African Americans in Texas who were finally informed of their freedom, some two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It was those people, and the generations of Texans who came after them, who made the bold declaration to celebrate this day, marking a reality we know far too well in this country: freedom may be delayed, but it will never be denied.

Though our fight for freedom sadly continues, today we pause to celebrate and embrace the joy of our ancestors who believed in the possibilities of a more promising tomorrow. And in that joy, we remain anchored, steadfast in our pursuit of true freedom and justice for all.

June is Voter Protection Month!

This election season, our local communities are the front lines. With voter roll purges, misinformation, and poll intimidation on the rise, we must arm voters with the truth about their rights.

Voter protection isn't just about Election Day—it’s about ensuring every eligible citizen can register, access accurate info, cast a ballot without barriers, and have their vote counted fairly.

Here is how you can help:
1️⃣ Volunteer: Sign up to serve as a poll worker or Election Day monitor.
2️⃣ Get Educated: Visit 866ourvote.org to learn more about the fight for fair elections.
3️⃣ Stay Prepared: Save the number 866-OUR-VOTE in your phone today. If you face any challenges at the polls, call it immediately.

The Macon Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is committed to registering, educating, and mobilizing our community. Let’s protect the vote together!

Thirty-six phenomenal members of the Macon Alumnae Chapter have been dedicated to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated for 50 years or more. Let that sink in. You are looking at 2,036 collective years of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action! We are standing on the shoulders of strong, beautiful, majestic, confident, brilliant, and unapologetic African American women. They didn't just ensure our mission was carried out—they blazed trails in their careers, families, churches, and neighborhoods. From high-ranking military officers, scientists, local, state and federal employees to educators, social workers, and healthcare professionals, their impact runs deep. We affectionately call them the “Cutie Pies” of Macon Alumnae, but they are so much more than that. We are anchored in their legacy. How’s that for some Black history.

For in their courage, we find a seed,
Of hope, of change, of a united creed.

In their footsteps, we learn to tread,
A path of respect, where once we fled.

So let us say with pride and grace,
To those once hidden, now face to face,

"Thank you for your service," deep and true,

For a better world, shaped by you.

From "A Black Soldier Story”
