This is what learning looks like in Hope Dealer Wright’s writing lab!

Our scholars were thinking, writing, discussing, collaborating, and making their learning visible! From organizing their ideas to sharing opinions and supporting them with reasons, the lab is creating opportunities for scholars to do the thinking and not just sit and receive information.

Every pencil moving, every conversation, and every idea shared is another step toward our goal.

At Union, we will continue to teach as if lives depend on it, because they do!

A few minutes of conversation can make a big difference in helping children explain their thinking and build confidence.

Our Attendance Kickoff was phenomenal!! Thank you to all of our special guests for pouring into our scholars today. They had a blast! Thank you Superintendent Dr. Dan A. Sims, Georgia Supreme Court Justice Verda Colvin, Takeysha Lewis, Dominique Johnson, Westside High School Cheer Squad, Macon Mayhem Mascot and Chelsie Correll, DJ Phi, and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice!

As we continue moving forward, remember that every day counts and every minute matters! Please help us by ensuring scholars arrive on time each day and remain at school for the entire instructional day whenever possible.
And don’t forget to READ, READ, READ! Read to your child, listen to your child read, and talk about what you’ve read together. The time you invest in reading at home strengthens the work we are doing at school.
