St. In 2014, the space was restored and adapted for the Arts Center’s initial opening.

Francis Arts Center is a community-focused educational facility that offers classes, workshops, and exhibits in a variety of creative mediums. The center’s historic building was originally constructed in 1924 for the Appleton Girl’s Orphanage. The Center presents the Middle Georgia community with exhibitions and programs that relate to visual arts and culture.

Our hearts go out to long time SFAC member and treasurer, Jane Salter on the loss of her husband James Screven Salter Jr. ("Jim" to many middle Georgia friends). The pottery kiln in the art center was donated by the Salters.

Celebrate the life of James Salter, leave a kind word or memory and get funeral service information care of Snow's Memorial Chapel.

No one is responsible for my happiness but me. It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that other people, circumstances, or things can fill the void, but at the end of the day, true happiness comes from within. I've learned that it's up to me to cultivate a sense of contentment and peace, regardless of external factors. When I take ownership of my own joy, it becomes something no one else can take away, and I stop depending on others to "make" me happy.

That being said, I truly appreciate the people who add to my happiness. Whether it's a kind word, shared laughter, or a simple act of love, these moments help amplify the joy I create for myself. I’m grateful for those who make my life brighter, not because they are responsible for my happiness, but because they remind me how wonderful it is to share life’s little joys with others. Their presence in my life is a beautiful addition, but ultimately, I know the power to be happy lies in my hands ...
