All week, Mercer faculty, staff and students served as teachers, mentors, and role models for aspiring healthcare professionals during Mercer Med Camp at Berrien High School. We're proud to help rural high school students explore a variety of healthcare careers and encourage them to envision possibilities for their own futures.

Throughout the week, students got hands-on instruction in:

💪 Physical therapy assessment and rehab techniques
🧠 Neuroscience and anatomy exploration

Our basic science faculty had a great time at the recent IAMSE conference connecting with colleagues and sharing research that's shaping the future of medical science education! From inspiring conversations to thought-provoking presentations, it was a fruitful event of learning and collaboration. 👏

As the first U.S. medical school to fully adopt problem-based learning (PBL), Mercer School of Medicine helped pioneer an approach that teaches future physicians how to think critically, solve complex problems and apply knowledge to patient care.​

Today, medical schools nationwide use PBL to help prepare MD students for clinical practice.​
