Today three student's from Macon High School's Work Based Learning program were speakers at the local Rotary luncheon. There, they were treated to lunch and had the opportunity to present to the group about their experience as an intern in the WBL program.
Work Based Learning is a program designed for high school seniors to gain real world experiences tied to their future career field. The three students represented work as interns for a technology group called Quality Network Solutions. They have learned how to troubleshoot problems, fix printers, phones, and computers, and work with all software and hardware within the school system. In addition, one of the students also has had several job shadowing experiences relating to the financial field.
WBL is a year-long program, designed to help students with their post secondary plans. We appreciate all networking and relationships that we can build to keep growing this program at MHS!
