Applications are being accepted now through December 7th for Magnet School programs

Magnet school applications for Alexander II Magnet School, Burdell-Hunt Elementary Magnet School, Heard Elementary School HAWKS - Macon, GA, Vineville Academy of the Arts, Miller Fine Arts Magnet Middle School and Central High School are now open online. Fill out applications for your students by December 7!

Way to kick off Attendance Awareness Month at Burrell-Hunt Elementary! These scholars were recognized for perfect attendance during the month of August!! Way to go!!

The Bibb County School District will transition all schools to asynchronous learning for two weeks beginning Tuesday, September 7. Staff will continue to work from the buildings and students will return to school for in-person learning on Monday, September 20. Students should continue attending school in person for the remainder of this week in order to make sure they receive an electronic device and handouts and know how to log in for assignments during asynchronous learning.

Don’t forget. Today is the last day to apply for the HB251 School Choice transfer.

The House Bill 251 transfer process is open March 1-31. Under this state law, parents may request to transfer their child to another public school in the district for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year, "if such school has classroom space available after its assigned students have been enrolled."

The Bibb County School District will determine "space available" in accordance with the capacity calculations approved by the United States District Court in the case of Adams, et al. v. Board of Education. Portable classrooms are not included in the calculations, and House Bill 251 transfers are not available for Pre-K.

To celebrate National Attendance Awareness Month, Veterans Elementary hosted a P.B.I.S. “Perfect Attendance Caravan” for students who had perfect attendance between September 17-25th. Wonderful job for being a Veterans Elementary HERO: Here Everyday, Ready to learn, On time!! 💙❤️

September is Attendance Awareness Month. Ingram Pye Elementary is starting the week off with “Shades Day”. Their students attendance is “so bright”, they have to wear shades!!
