The GPSTC is proud to announce our Third Come in From the Rain Symposium. Attendees will discover strategies to take care of themselves and each other with tools to prevent burnout, depression and the effects of the devastation experienced every day, as well as resources and options when the situation becomes unbearable.

All Public Safety, including law enforcement, fire, EMS, communications, and anyone interested in Mental health, first aid, financial wellness, resilience, peer counseling and support, physical wellness, mindset, and more.

The symposium is 16 hours over two days and will be held in the Auditorium on GPSTC's main campus in Forsyth on October 27-28, 2026.

We Will Never Forget

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the firefighters, EMS professionals, law enforcement officers, military personnel, and countless others who answered the call that day. We remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

We also remember the families who lost loved ones and all whose lives were forever changed.

May we never forget their lives, their courage, their sacrifice, and the unity our nation found in the days that followed.

We are excited to announce that students at Pillar EMS Academy can now complete clinical rotations with Emory Healthcare in Warner Robins!

Even better, our next Warner Robins EMT class starts September 24! Train to become a licensed EMT, complete clinicals with outstanding healthcare partners, and take the first step toward a career in EMS, possibly even with organizations like Emory.

📚🐾 We’re Proud to Celebrate One of Our Own! 🐾📚

At Pillar EMS Academy, we know our team members have talents that extend far beyond the classroom, and today, we’re excited to spotlight our very own Program Director, Rhonda Hunt, and her newest adventure as a children’s book author!

Rhonda is the creator and author behind Elliott and The Entourage, featuring Elliott, the leader of an entertaining entourage of dachshunds and the self-proclaimed greatest generation, Gen D (that’s D for Dachshund, of course!) 🐶❤️

We’re incredibly proud to see Rhonda bring her creativity, personality, and love for her four-legged entourage to a whole new audience.

EMS education may have brought Rhonda to the Pillar family, but apparently saving lives and mentoring future EMS professionals wasn’t enough; she had to become an author, too! 😄

Pillar EMS Academy will be offering upcoming EMT and AEMT NREMT Refresher & Remedial Sessions to provide additional academic support and NREMT preparation.

Pillar EMS Academy Students & Graduates

These sessions are FREE for Pillar students and graduates who need additional preparation, review, or remediation before their next NREMT examination attempt.

Graduates of Other EMS Programs

These sessions are available to non-Pillar graduates who have completed three unsuccessful NREMT examination attempts and require remedial education before becoming eligible for additional attempts.

Students from other EMS programs who are still within their initial three NREMT examination attempts should contact their original EMS education program for academic support and remediation.

Remedial Education Documentation

Upon successful completion of all required sessions, students who require remedial education documentation will receive the appropriate course completion documentation needed to reestablish eligibility to sit for the NREMT examination.

One of the perks of having the best seats in town for the Macon Bacon games is being able to share the experience with our students, graduates, clients, and friends. ⚾️🥓

At Pillar EMS Academy, we believe relationships matter both inside and outside the classroom. Whether it’s celebrating current students, reconnecting with past graduates, or spending time with the people who support our mission, nights at the ballpark are always a great reminder of the community we’ve built together.

Oh, and the tickets include all-you-can-eat food, which somehow makes the games even better. 🌭🍔😂

A huge thank you to our Medical Director, Dr. McMickle, for spending time with our paramedic students, not only checking them off on intubation skill s but also sharing valuable guidance, real-world insight, and tips and tricks that only come from years of experience.
