🌿 Exploring “Our South” at MGA 🌿
's 2026 Interdisciplinary Student Conference is set for April 8–10, bringing together students, faculty, and guest speakers to examine “Our South: Resources and Challenges in the Natural World.”
The three-day event will feature presentations from Mercer University professor Gordon Johnston, author of “Seven Islands of the Ocmulgee: River Stories,” and fiction writer Odessa Blaine, whose work draws on Appalachian lore and Southern culture.
Open to the public, the conference will also include student-led presentations and panel discussions spanning community health, art, literature, and the social sciences.

On Friday April 17, at 10 AM, the History Student Organization and Around the World Club will meet at Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Monument. Dr. Matt Jennings, a leading authority on the Ocmulgee Mounds, will take the group on a guided tour of the site. Please don't hesitate to join us!
