rd Grade Mathematicians Collaborating for Success!
Learning is even more powerful when we work together! Our 3rd grade students took part in a hands-on math activity using base-ten blocks to represent numbers in different ways. Students collaborated with classmates to build, decompose, and explain numbers using hundreds, tens, and ones.
Through meaningful math conversations and teamwork, students developed a deeper understanding of place value while strengthening their problem-solving and communication skills. These engaging learning experiences help students see mathematics in action and build the confidence needed to tackle challenging concepts.

🌊5th Grade Scientists in Action! 🌊
Our 5th grade students are bringing science to life through hands-on investigations in the classroom! Under the guidance of Science Teachers Coach Sneed and Ms. Thompson, students explored how moving water acts as an agent of erosion by creating waves, making observations, collecting measurements, and analyzing the impact on a model shoreline.
This engaging activity challenged students to think critically, work collaboratively, and apply scientific practices to understand real-world environmental processes. Through inquiry and exploration, our students are developing the skills needed to become the problem-solvers and innovators of tomorrow.

We are excited to welcome our students and families to the Veterans Elementary School Open House on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM!
Come meet your teacher, see your classroom, tour our school, and get ready for an amazing year of learning, growth, and success. Families will also attend a mandatory Parent Information Session with Dr. Gibson.
