Stratford Academy Athletics The Stratford Athletic Department offers opportunities for students through our youth sports programs as well as our middle school, JV and varsity teams.

Pride, Tradition, and Excellence have been the foundation of Stratford Athletics since they began in the early 1960’s. The first teams began with golf, tennis, and basketball with golf winning the first state championship in 1964. Of course the addition of cheerleaders at basketball games added to the excitement of early days of Eagle Pride. Now Stratford boasts over 14 sports with 47 teams. Our sports development begins as early as Pre K in our youth programs with the emphasis being on teaching what is developmentally appropriate and building to the next level with varsity sports being the most comprehensive programming. The Stratford Athletic Department strives to round out the education of the student athlete by encouraging participation in multiple sports. Our coaching staff has over 400 years of experience and a number of them have played sports at the college level along with several having played at the professional level.

We are proud to announce that the 2025–26 Stratford Varsity Boys and Girls Soccer Teams have both earned the prestigious United Soccer Coaches High School Team Academic Award!

Across the country, only 221 teams earned this national recognition - 91 boys’ teams and 130 girls’ teams - by posting a team GPA of 3.25 or higher.

Even more impressive, just 29 schools nationwide had both their boys’ and girls’ soccer programs recognized - and Stratford is proud to be one of them!

Our Eagles didn’t just meet the standard. Both our boys’ and girls’ teams posted an outstanding team GPA of over 3.70 for the 2025–26 academic year.

“Coach Kate and I are so proud of the dedication of our student-athletes and all the hard work they put in on the field, but most importantly, in the classroom as they continue to excel,” stated Head Boys Soccer Coach Iain Jones.

Congratulations to our players and coaches for continuing to lead by example and showing that success at Stratford happens both in the classroom and on the field!
