🐾 There’s nothing like seeing our Panther Family!

We had such a wonderful time at Open House last night! It was great welcoming our families back, catching up with familiar faces, and meeting some of our newest Panthers. 💙

Our staff is excited, our classrooms are ready, and now we’re just missing our students!

We can’t wait to see all of our Panthers bright and early Monday morning as we kick off another EXTRAORDINARY school year together with our EXTRAORDINARY LEARNERS!

📣 Panther Families, Open House is TOMORROW!

We’re excited to welcome our students and families back to John R. Lewis Elementary School as we prepare for another extraordinary year of learning and leading!

⏰ 3:30–6:00 PM

During Open House, families will have an opportunity to meet teachers, explore the school, learn about programs, and get ready for a successful school year.

A few important reminders before you arrive:
• Please review our school dress code with your student.
• All students are required to wear their BCSD-issued ID badge each day.
• Please review our cell phone policy for the upcoming school year.

🍰 And come with a sweet tooth! We’ll also have our Nothing Bundt Cakes Open House Fundraiser from 3:30–6:00 PM or until sold out. Bundtlets are $7 each, cash or card, with several flavors available. Your purchase helps support our school!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Family Members,
We are excited to welcome you to Open House on Thursday, July 30th, as we kick off an incredible 2026-2027 school year! This year's schoolwide theme is:

League of Extraordinary Learners: Every Student Has a Superpower Because There Is a Leader in Me!

As you visit classrooms and hallways during Open House, you'll notice each grade level has embraced a unique superhero theme that celebrates leadership, learning, and the special strengths of every child. Our goal is to create a school environment where students feel inspired, empowered, and excited to learn each day.

We believe that every child has extraordinary potential, and by working together—school, home, and community—we can help every student discover and develop the leader within.

We are also seeking parents, guardians, and community members who are interested in serving on our John R. Lewis Elementary School Council. The School Council provides valuable input and works collaboratively with school leadership to support student achievement and strengthen our partnership with families. If you are interested in serving, please see the attached flyer for more information.
