WIU CSP students and faculty had an unforgettable spring attending both the ACPA - College Student Educators International's Annual Convention in Long Beach, CA and NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education's Annual Conference in New Orleans, LA. We proudly celebrated Dr. Tracy Davis’ retirement and his ACPA Lifetime Achievement Award, while reconnecting with incredible alumni and friends at each reception. Huge thanks to our generous donors - your support made these meaningful experiences possible. We’re bringing back fresh ideas and renewed energy to make an even greater impact at WIU!

We are excited to offer a graduate assistantship opportunity in partnership with Augustana College! As a Resident Director in Rock Island, IL, students will live on-campus while pursuing the CSP-Student Affairs track master’s program at Western Illinois University. This position offers the flexibility to be enrolled full-time remotely (or hybrid, with the option to attend campus).
Overview:
The Graduate Assistant Resident Director (RD) is a live-in part-time role, reporting to the Area Coordinator, serving as a student role model with high ethical standards.
Job Duties:
- Supervise Community Advisors (CAs) in assigned halls.
- Respond to emergencies on-call approximately once every five weeks.
- Address policy violations and manage student keys.
- Attend meetings and co-facilitate staff meetings.
- Assist with opening/closing duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Western Illinois University alumna Regina Hyatt has earned the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) highest honor, the 2025 Founders Award.
